Everton defender John Stones appears to be coming around on possibly moving to Chelsea, as the defending Premier League champions have maintained heavy interest in the 21-year-old.
However, their quest to land the star defender may come to an end for good as Everton manager Roberto Martinez has told Stones that he’s staying at Goodison Park even if he files a transfer request.
“When you got a long-term contract those things doesn’t change at all,” Martinez said, according to the Daily Star.
Everton will upgraded their defence anyway, as they are expected to officially sign Ramiro Funes Mori for £6m within the next 48 hours.

Mori will be an added bonus for the Toffees backline, assuming Martinez stays true to his word and refuses to sell Stones.
Chelsea have made nearly every effort possible, as they have already had three bids rejected that progressively increased to £30m.
The nature in which Chelsea have gone about their pursuit of Stones has angered Martinez, who is far from pleased with how open Jose Mourinho has been about his interest in the England international.
The Blues are rumoured to be on the verge of coming back with a £40m offer, which would easily shatter the British transfer record held by Rio Ferdinand.
