Key duo were both injured at Villa on Saturday.
Chelsea skipper John Terry and key midfield player Eden Hazard have been ruled out of Wednesday’s Uefa Europa League final against Benfica due to injury, reports the Daily Mirror.
One-time England international captain Terry suffered a nasty-looking twisted ankle playing against Aston Villa in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon, with the big defender having to be stretchered from the field of play in the second half in apparent agony, needing the use of oxygen.
Meanwhile, mercurial Belgium international playmaker Hazard was also injured in the west London club’s crucial 2-1 win at Villa Park, leaving the action late on with a recurrence of a calf problem.
And neither player travelled with the rest of the Chelsea squad on Tuesday to the Netherlands for what is the Blues’ second appearance in a major European club final in the space of just 12 months.
Chelsea are looking to make history by becoming the first-ever side to win the Uefa Europa League and the Champions League in successive seasons by beating the in-form Portuguese league leaders at the Amsterdam ArenA.
