Terry’s current deal expires at the end of the season, and would likely continue his career elsewhere if not offered a new deal. Lampard joined Manchester City at the end of the previous campaign, and scored against the Blues earlier this term.
Luiz, who was quoted by the Daily Mirror, said: “I played next to John for a long time. He is having another great season with Chelsea, maybe one of his best.
“I am sure there is no question about Chelsea renewing his contract for another season, with the way he is playing he has made it impossible for them not to.
“I do think Chelsea are the strongest team in England, and although there are many games left, I think they will win the league. They have the lead now and I think they have the players there who have the mental ability to cope with the pressure of being top.
“Players like John, Petr Cech and Didier Drogba have all done it before, they know what it takes. They will be a big influence on the younger players in the dressing room.”
