Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel has taken the lead in NFL jersey sales, beating out Super Bowl champion Russell Wilson.
Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel has yet to take a snap in the NFL, but his big name has caused fans to already buy his jersey.
The former Heisman Trophy winner has taken the lead for most jerseys sold in the entire league. Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson falls down to No. 2. Rounding out the top six are San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning, Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman and St. Louis Rams rookie defensive end Michael Sam.
Manziel made a name for himself at Texas A&M when he became the first freshman in college football history to win the Heisman. The rookie finished with 93 total touchdowns in just two seasons of college ball.
Despite his on-field success, Manziel has generated controversy for seemingly being a party boy and not focusing on football enough.
However, the quarterback insists that he is ready to focus on football and ultimately win the starting quarterback job for the Browns.
