The Cincinnati Bengals defeated the Cleveland Browns 30-0 to maintain their hold of the AFC North and spoiled Johnny Manziel’s first NFL start.
The Bengals never gave the Browns a chance in the game, holding the Browns to just 107 yards of total offense and forcing two INTs from Johnny Manziel. The Bengals began their assault on the Browns with a TD run by rookie RB Jeremy Hill and a FG from PK Mike Nugent to give them a 10-0 first quarter lead. Another Hill TD and another Nugent FG gave the Bengals the 20-0 halftime lead.
The Browns and rookie QB Johnny Manziel were unable to get anything going, with Manziel only recording 80 passing yards and another 13 on the ground, but as mentioned earlier, his two INTs were killer. In the third quarter the Bengals extended their lead on Nugent’s third and final FG of the day, and in the fourth quarter the Bengals put the game away for good with a TD run from RB Rex Burkhead.
With the win the Cincinnati Bengals maintain their lead in the AFC North title race. With one more win this season they will clinch the playoffs. Their next game will be against the Denver Broncos on Sunday Night Football next week.
The Cleveland Browns fall to 7-7 on the season with the loss and have two road games still to go with games against the Carolina Panthers and the Baltimore Ravens.
