‘Special One’ has refused to confirm reports he is leaving Madrid.
There is an “80 per cent chance” that Real Madrid head coach Jose Mourinho will make a dramatic return to former club Chelsea at the end of the season according to the Portuguese’s agent, Jorge Mendes, reports ESPN.
Speculation has been rife of late linking the charismatic trainer with an emotional Stamford Bridge comeback, six years after Mourinho was sacked by the west London club’s billionaire Russian owner Roman Abramovich.
The Portuguese, who has a contract at the Santiago Bernabeu that runs until the end of May 2016, has endured an up-and-down campaign in the Spanish capital, with Los Blancos set to lose their Liga crown to arch-rivals FC Barcelona this weekend, while they were also knocked out of the Uefa Champions League by Borussia Dortmund at the semi-final stage earlier this week.
However, Madrid are in the Copa del Rey final against city-rivals Atletico de Madrid later this month, after which it is expected that Mourinho will finally confirm his decision to end his three-year spell in Spain to return to the Premier League.
