Chelsea have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of Napoli forward Jose Callejon, as Inter Milan have joined the race for his signature this summer.
According to the Express, the Premier League champions were leading the chase and looked to be closing in on a deal after tabling a bid of £15.5m – and Napoli are allegedly willing to sell the Spain international.
The British newspaper claim that Callejon emerged as a target for Blues manager Jose Mourinho as a consequence of Juan Cuadrado and Mohamed Salah‘s uncertain futures in west London.
However, they will now have to fend off Internazionale, as Roberto Mancini is willing to offer defender Juan Jesus in a swap deal for Callejon.
Tottenham Hotspur are also said to be interested, as they search for competition to Harry Kane with Roberto Soldado and Emmanuel Adebayor set to leave White Hart Lane in the coming weeks.

Callejon scored 11 Serie A goals last season, and could be considered expendable at the Stadio San Paolo with Gonzalo Higuain the first-choice centre-forward for the Italian outfit.
