Portuguese wants to be reunited with Oranje playmaker.
New Chelsea head coach Jose Mourinho has asked Blues owner Roman Abramovich to get him experienced Galatasaray midfield player Wesley Sneijder this summer, says the Sunday Mirror.
The coveted Netherlands international has only been with the Turkish giants since the turn of the year, with the player arriving in Istanbul from Serie A outfit Inter Milan for just 7.5 million euros in January on a three-and-a-half-year deal.
However, in the intervening period the 29-year-old has found it hard to reproduce his best form for Gala, featuring in 16 matches in all competitions for the club and registering four goals and one assist in the process, including only three goals in his 12 league contests as the club won the Turkish league.
That, though, has not prevented Mourinho from asking Abramovich to bring the playmaker to Stamford Bridge this summer so that the pair can be reunited again following their successful two-year spell working together at San Siro three seasons ago.
