He may not be a fan favourite just yet, but Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has backed recent signing Juan Cuadrado to ‘be fantastic’ next season, the Metro reports.

The Colombian international has struggled to make an impact since arriving from Fiorentina for £26m during the January transfer window, and even became the subject of abuse from unhappy Blues fans when he came off the bench in recent draw with Southampton.
And what’s made things worse is that the man he was drafted in to replace, Mohammed Salah, has rekindled his form to earn rave reviews with La Viola, prompting many to question Mourinho’s wisdom with regards to the deal.
However, Mourinho is confident that the 26-year-old will still turn things around in West London, though fans may not see the best of him until next season.
“I just know that it’s different to play in Italy than to plan in England, different to play for Fiorentina than for Chelsea,” he said.
“A player needs time and I am ready to give him time. The club is ready to give him time.
“It looks like he’s ready to have this time.
“Next season, I believe he can have a fantastic season.”
