Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has added more fuel to the fuel before his team’s game against Arsenal by claiming that Cesc Fabregas “loves Chelsea already”.
This will be Fabregas’ first game against Arsenal, and his return to the club where he made his breakthrough is the dominant narrative in this edition of the Chelsea-Arsenal game which always provides great stories. Arsenal turned down the chance to sign Fabregas in the summer, but Mourinho insists that the Spaniard is now enamoured with his new club.
“I think he loves Chelsea already. He’s so happy: the way he plays, the way he’s a member of the squad, the way he lives in this little blue village. It is like he’s [been] here for a long time. If you ask him now if he regrets the move, I’m sure he’d say no. If you ask him if he’d choose a different option, he’d say no. And if you ask him where he thinks he’ll be in five years’ time, he will say Chelsea.
Mourinho has refused to apologise to Wenger for his comments about the Arsenal manager being a “specialist in failure”, in response Wenger describing him as “afraid of failure”. The two managers’ opposing philosophies have made matches between their teams consistently exciting.
