Chelsea player ratings vs Hull City: Eden Hazard brilliant and Thibaut Courtois at fault for Tigers goal
Man City eye Arsenal & Chelsea targets in £100m spending spree – is it enough to solve their problems?
Despite losing a two-goal lead in 74 seconds against Hull City, substitute Loic Remy scored a late winner to clinch a fourth straight away victory for the Blues and open up a six point gap in the Premier League table over second placed Manchester City.
Despite a major upset threatened by the Tigers, Chelsea came through another stern test and still have a game in hand as they enter their last ten games of the season.
“Now with a six point lead and a game in hand, we are in the best situation we have been in this season,” Mourinho said, reports Daily Star.
“We let the lead go but played fantastic football from the first minute.
“There is no point analysing the mistakes of the first half. It was no complacency, mistakes happen.
“Of course, we were unhappy with the goals conceded but I would rather that than go in at 0-0 having played badly.
“In the second half, we played well again and deserved to win.”
There is some potential bad news for Mourinho though with Remy only coming on due to a potential hamstring injury suffered by Diego Costa, who will still fly out for Spain’s European Championship qualifier with Ukraine though is a major doubt.
