Portuguese boss welcomes Eto’o link…
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho welcomes link to Cameroonian striker Samuel Eto’o, reports talkSPORT.
The striker declared that he would be happy to work the charismatic boss again, who managed him successfully during his two year stint at Italian giants Inter Milan.
“I’m happy a player who worked with me before says he wants to join me again, especially one like Samuel. Before the transfer window closes, we will make decisions,” said Mourinho.
The Portuguese maestro brought Eto’o to Italy as part of a colossal move by Barca that saw Zlatan Ibrahimovic go the other way. Inter Milan did brilliantly out of the deal, while the giant Swede only stayed at Barcelona for one season.
Under Mourinho’s guidance, the Serie A outfit went on to win the treble in 2009/10 of league, Coppa Italia and Champions League – the third top European trophy of the African’s career.
With the Blues needing strengthening up front due to increased doubts over the performance levels of Fernando Torres and Demba Ba, Eto’o could well prove to be the missing link.
The west London club have made Rooney their No.1 target, but could be forced to look elsewhere due to Manchester United’s determination not to sell.
