Chelsea will most likely be dumped out of this season’s Champions League if they lose to Porto on Wednesday night.
Despite his Chelsea side – who are just two points ahead of the Premier League’s relegation zone – looking vulnerable to an embarrassing early exit from European football’s biggest party, manager Jose Mourinho does not fear the sack.
Speaking to Sky Sports on the eve of Porto’s visit to Stamford Bridge, Mourinho said that Blues owner Roman Abramovich was not a man to ‘change with the wind’.
“I think I did lots of good things for this club,” Mourinho told reporters. “He believed in me twice. One, when he brought me back to the club, and the second time when he gave me a new four-year contract.
“I don’t think the owner is a person to change with the wind. I know the wind of results is an important wind and I know this wind is really strong because the results in the Premier League are really bad.”
