Despite rumours that he is in talks with AC Milan, Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has revealed that Fernando Torres is staying at Stamford Bridge and has not asked to leave.
Following the summer arrivals of Diego Costa and club legend Didier Drogba the Spain international has fallen to third in the pecking order for a place upfront.
As a result links with several clubs have emerged, with Milan making the first steps to completing the deal, but Mourinho has suggested the striker will in fact be staying.

Mourinho on Torres: ‘If he wants to leave, I believe it is because he wants to try a new life. Probably a new league.’ #CFC

Torres has had a tough time in West London since becoming the British record transfer holder – since overtaken by Manchester United’s £59.7m purchase of Angel di Maria – when he completed a £50m switch from Liverpool to the Blues in January 2011.
Since then the 30-year-old has managed to score just 45 goals in 172 appearances in all competitions and not many fans at the Bridge would be sad to see the Spaniard leave.
