Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon had his appeal hearing for his pending suspension, and it reportedly lasted for 10 hours.
Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon has ran into trouble with the law for repeated failed drug tests and a recent DWI charge.
The talented yet troubled receiver is expected to be suspended for the entire season, but he is not ready to accept that sort of punishment just yet.
Gordon is appealing his potential suspension, and he participated in his first hearing Friday. His appeal is expected to include a claim that one of his failed drug tests was because of second-hand smoke.
The appeal process reportedly took 10 hours, and it was not enough time to sort out the entire case, so it will continue Monday.
Gordon will be a major loss for the Browns assuming his suspension remains long. He led the NFL in receiving yards with 1,646. The Browns do not have anyone else who is proven at wide receiver, so whoever wins the starting quarterback job will have a tall task ahead of him.
