Glenn Roeder believes Mike Ashley should go all out to land Borussia Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp…
Jurgen Klopp would be the perfect replacement for Alan Pardew at St. James’ Park, should the current boss decide to take up the offer from Crystal Palace. That’s according to former Newcastle United manager Glenn Roeder.

Roeder, who was discussing the Newcastle managerial situation with Talk Sport, said: “Newcastle need to find someone who’s very experienced, has managed in the top divisions and has a winning track record.
“For once, I wouldn’t take a chance on anyone up and coming. You have got to give Newcastle fans a real character, like Chelsea did a number of years ago when they brought in Jose Mourinho.
“The first thing Mike Ashley will look for is an experienced British manager, with a great CV, but they are an endangered species. Whether you like it or not there are not many British managers that have got that sort of CV that is required to give the fans.
“Someone who does fit Newcastle’s bill is Jurgen Klopp. You might just get him at the moment because Borussia Dortmund are having a terrible season. He is a real character and is just the sort of person the fans could warm to quickly.
“He speaks very good English, has a great sense of humour and is obviously a very good coach. They may just land someone like that because, as far as British managers are concerned, they are not there currently.”
