Italian tactician aiming for third consecutive Scudetto.
La Gazzetta dello Sport have run a special feature in which they discuss the 10 steps to success under Antonio Conte at Juventus.
The Italian coach has been a revelation since being appointed in the role two years ago, and has managed to replicate the success he enjoyed as a player with the club in the managerial hotseat.
While he has previously admitted that he may be tempted by the offer of working abroad in the future, his more immediate plans concern continuing the Bianconeri’s domination of Italian football.
Having gone undefeated the entire season two years ago, the Turin giants defended their league title last year in fairly convincing fashion.
However, as they continue to strengthen the squad it is clear that they are targeting success in Europe next following the arrival of the likes of Carlos Tevez and Fernando Llorente.
Conte’s men are strong favourites to make it three successive Scudetti, while the Coppa Italia also represents a realistic chance of completing a treble. Although, things may be more difficult this year after several of their domestic rivals have brought in reinforcements over the summer.
Nevertheless, Juve will be confident of their chances of sustaining the current level of success and Gazzetta believe they have found the 10 steps behind Conte’s achievements thus far:
1 – The team comes before the individual
2 – The hunger for victory is to be cultivated every day
3 – Trust the coach and follow him forever
4 – Training is the cornerstone of success
6 – In the field you always think to attack
7 – Speed of thought and legs
8 – In everything you do, must play with heart
9 – Juve have a glorious history: Respect the jersey
10 – You have to be aggressive, but correct
The “ten rules” have been created through various quotes from Conte over the past two years while also using performances on the pitch as a way of describing how the former midfielder has been so successful to date.
