Juventus have announced that they have agreed a deal with Queens Park Rangers to loan them Chilean full-back Mauricio Isla for the entirety of the 2014-15 season.
The Daily Mirror have just revealed the transfer coup, with the 26-year-old, who can operate in midfield, as well as at right-back, set to undergo a medical in west London on Sunday.
Chilean international Isla, who starred for his country at this summers World Cup, has failed to hold down a regular place in the Juventus team since joining the club from domestic rivals Udinese – where he made 127 Serie A appearances during a five year spell – in 2012.
He has been capped 47 times by his country, scoring two goals, and becomes the third addition at Rangers this summer, following on from former England international and ex-Manchester United star Rio Ferdinand, and former Cardiff and Tottenham defender Steven Caulker.
Giuseppe Marotta, CEO of Juve, told reporters: “We have reached a deal with QPR for Isla’s loan move. Tomorrow he will have medical with QPR.” Isla had previously attracted interest from both Arsenal and Liverpool.
