Chilean star could be made to wait though as likely to sign in September.
Juventus midfield ace Arturo Vidal is set to sign a contract extension which will keep him at the club until 2018, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
The 26-year-old has been a pillar of the Bianconeri squad over the past two years, helping the club to seal back-to-back league titles and re-establish themselves as the top team in Italy.
While his impressive form has attracted interest across Europe from the likes of Bayern and Barcelona over the years, it is understood that he is closing in on signing a new deal with the Turin giants.
As reported by Gazzetta, the Chilean international will sign an extension which will keep him at the club until 2018, but there is a slight delay to the formalities as it is believed that the appointment for the signing will come after the transfer market is closed in September.
Director general Beppe Marotta held a meeting with Vidal’s agent on Wednesday in order to discuss the renewal and the various bonuses that will be included in the agreement.
It is claimed in the papers that Vidal is set to prosper significantly if Juventus continue their rich vein of success, and the news will come as a blow to those monitoring his situation.
However, although talks are positive at this stage it remains to be seen when the renewal is made official as both parties have agreed to wait until the close of the transfer market and to reconvene in September to put pen to paper.
