Juventus’ mooted move for German World Cup winning forward Lukas Podolski may be on the verge of collapse, report the Mail, with the Serie A champions seemingly unwilling to meet the former Cologne man’s hefty £3 million per year wages, as well as the loan fee being demanded by Arsenal.
This could open up the possibility of a permanent move to ambitious Bundesliga outfit Vfl Wolfsburg, where he would be reunited with former teammate Nicklas Bendtner, with the German side looking to take Podolski on a permanent basis – but the play himself more keen on a move to Turin.
Arsenal seem willing to allow Podolski to leave the club, with the arrival of Alexis Sanchez and return of Joel Campbell meaning that the World Cup winner has fallen even further down the pecking order at the Emirates Stadium, both out wide and upfront.
