Old Lady still want to bring Gunners target to Turin.
Juventus will continue to compete with Arsenal for the signature of Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain despite closing in on a £10m deal for Carlos Tevez.
Man City’s Tevez has landed in Turin to finalise a move to the Old Lady but the Daily Mail reports the Scudetto winners are still keen on Higuain, who has made no secret of his desire to leave the Santiago Bernabeu this summer.
The Italians have reportedly offered £19m for the 25-year-old Argentine, with Real only willing to do business for more than £26m.
The Mail’s reports comes on the same day Higuain’s brother and agent, Nicolas, admitted the Argentina international was closing in on a move to the Emirates Stadium after Juventus were priced out of a deal.
“I think that Higuain is now closer to Arsenal,” Nicolas Higuain is quoted as saying by Football Italia.
“Juventus are a great club, but Gonzalo is too expensive for them.”
Higuain has bagged 107 La Liga goals since arriving in the Spanish capital from River Plate in 2005.
