Juventus will begin a strict fitness program with new signing Carlos Tevez as they believe he is currently carrying more weight than required.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, boss Antonio Conte has a strict policy on the fitness of his squad, and although it is expected of his players to return from their holidays a little overweight, he wants Tevez to begin a diet regime as soon as possible.
It is understood that Tevez has been deemed around 6 kg overweight by the medical staff in Turin, and is expected to return to the club’s training ground to begin a series of tests both today and tomorrow where Conte will also be present.
The former Manchester City striker sealed a move to Turin at the end of last month, and spoke of his belief in the club and their ability to continue to win trophies both in Italy and in Europe.
The 29-year-old has revealed he can handle the level of expectancy surrounding him, especially given the fact that he has decided to inherit the famous No.10 shirt from club legend Alessandro Del Piero.
However, if he is make his time in Turin a success he will have to adhere to the strict rules put in place by Conte according to Gazzetta, and while he may be at a disadvantage due to his natural build, it will require an even bigger effort from the Argentine ace to stick to the program.
