Carlos Tevez is considered the next best option for the Serie A champions should they fail to land Jovetic.
Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez is being linked with a move to Serie A giants Juventus as their backup plan should they fail in their pursuit of Fiorentina’s Stevan Jovetic.
The Argentine striker has been linked with a move to the Italian champions this summer but the Daily Mail reports that Tevez has now been officially named the number two target for Anotnio Conte’s side.
Jovetic has also been heavily linked with a move to Juventus and Arsenal but the Viola have slapped a £30m price tag on their prized striker, which could put off Juventus in their bid to sign the Montenegrin.
Tevez scored 11 goals in 28 appearances for Manchester City last season, and the 29-year old will still be a major part of the team’s Premier League campaign next season, should he stay at Eastlands.
While no deal is expected soon, his future is likely to become clearer once City install Manuel Pellegrini as their manager in the coming weeks.
