Serie A giants to move for French ace.
Manchester United’s record signing of Southampton left-back Luke Shaw has prompted Italian giants Juventus to move for out of favour Red Devils’ defender Patrice Evra.
According to talkSPORT the Bianconeri want to lure the French ace to Italy with the promise of more first team football, despite the former Monaco man recently having taken up the option of extending his stay at Old Trafford for one more year.
One cannot quite be sure whether the Red Devils’ new boss Louis Van Gaal would want to sell the experienced Frenchman, particularly after allowing Dutchman Alex Buttner to leave Old Trafford earlier in the summer.
Van Gaal might want Evra’s experience to support young Luke Shaw, who recently signed for the club, and unless the Dutch boss signs another left-back reinforcement this summer, one does not see the sale happening.
Juventus are not one to lose hope though, and will continue their attempt to secure a long-term target such as Evra.
Evra was still the club’s first choice left-back last season, and was even one of their top performers despite it being a disappointing campaign, suffering their worst ever Premier League finish and sacking David Moyes before the season closed.
