The Italian champions will give Storari plus cash for Jovetic.
Fiorentina’s Stevan Jovetic is the subject of an audacious bid from Juventus as the Serie A champions prepare to offer goalkeeper Marco Storari plus cash for the Arsenal target, according to Tutto Sport.
The ongoing transfer saga of Jovetic has been progressing extremely slowly, with Manchester City and Chelsea also showing interest in the Montenegrin in the past.
It was thought that Juve had dropped out of the race having already signed Fernando Llorente and Carlos Tevez this summer, but La Bianconeri have now reignited their interest in the 23-year-old.
Juve are not particularly keen on this deal as the departure of Storari would leave no room for error in the fitness of No.1 Gianluigi Buffon.
However, the Italian champions are willing to take that risk if it means negotiations with Fiorentina can begin as currently no club has been willing to meet the Florence side’s £26m valuation of Jovetic.
Whilst the interested parties are hoping the Serie A side will soften on this stance, Juve are of the opinion that a part-exchange would save them having to shell out the entire fee.
This would be disappointing for the Gunners as they themselves had viewed the Montenegro international as the ideal candidate to bolster their own attack.
Whilst a deal for Gonzalo Higuain from Real Madrid looks imminent, acquiring Jovetic as well would really state boss Arsene Wenger’s intent for the upcoming season.
The striker has scored 40 goals in 134 matches for Fiorentina since a £7m switch from Partizan Belgrade in 2008, but is likely to leave the club following the signing of Bayern Munich’s Mario Gomez.
