Chelsea’s Romelu Lukaku might finally get a chance to realise his Champions League dreams this season as he has emerged as a loan target for Italian champions Juventus, reports the Daily Mirror.
Lukaku is not yet in the good books of his current manager Jose Mourinho, who wants to offload him once again this season to see if he can return a more mature and first team ready striker.
Although the Belgian has scored an impressive 32 goals on 2 loan spells at West Brom and Everton, Mourinho does not rate him enough to keep him in his first team squad, and even wants to sell him for around £25 million, owing to a spat he had with the 21-year old last season.
Juventus’ approach for a loan deal could present a win-win situation for all 3 parties as it would give Lukaku the Champions League football he has been craving for. The Bianconeri’s new signing Alvaro Morata has been ruled out for upto 2 months with a knee injury he suffered in one of his first training sessions, which has reportedly opened the door for Lukaku to move to Turin on a short term basis.
