Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Dwayne Bowe has been suspended for one game for a marijuana possession arrest that occurred in November.
Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Dwayne Bowe has been suspended one game by the NFL for violating the substance abuse policy, adding to the Chiefs’ rough offseason.
This suspension stems from a marijuana possession arrest back in November, and Bowe was also charged for littering earlier.
The wide receiver made a public apology after his suspension was placed on him. “I am extremely sorry that I can’t be on the field for the first game of the 2014 season because I made an error in judgment,” Bowe said.
Bowe has led the Chiefs in receptions for the past seven seasons, so his production will be somewhat difficult to replace. Their top wide receiver remaining will be Donnie Avery. Their best candidates across from him are Kyle Williams, Junior Hemingway and A.J. Jenkins.
However, they get to play the Tennessee Titans at home in their season opener, so they should be able to manage without Bowe.
