Queensland side announces two big off-season player additions.
Karmichael Hunt will make yet another code switch and play for the Queensland Reds in the Super Rugby competition in 2015.
The Reds confirmed one of the worst kept secrets in Australian sport on Friday night, when they announced Hunt and former Wallaby James O’Connor as their two key signings for next season.
Hunt confirmed on Thursday he was quitting the Gold Coast Suns and AFL, where he has spent the past five seasons since leaving the Brisbane Broncos.
At the time, Hunt refused to confirm he was heading to the Reds, but the club revealed on Friday he was locked in until the end of the 2017 season.
The former Queensland State of Origin and Australia full-back has played rugby before, playing as a schoolboy at Churchie and also having a 15-game stint at Biarritz Olympique between leaving the Broncos and joining the Suns.
O’Connor has had stints with London Irish and Toulon in France since leaving Australia and he will be looking to use his two-year contract with the Reds as a stepping stone back into the Wallabies set-up.
