The 24-year-old has come under fire of late after conceding a soft goal in the recently friendly match with Barcelona but has vowed to provide a stable present between the sticks once again when the 87th edition of the tournament gets underway on Tuesday.
Pahang are the first opposition for the Golden Deers in Kuantan tomorrow and Fahmi that his entire focus is on preparing for the match and helping his side win the trophy for a second season running.
“In any sports, the ups and downs of a player are normal,” he said.
“I admit that my recent performances were not that good and I need to fix it if I want to be in the first 11.”
Despite holding the number one jersey for his country Fahmi doesn’t believe he holds the same distinction at Kelantan and considers the number one spot to be anyones for the taking.
“I cannot say that the goalkeeper position in Kelantan is definitely mine,” he acknowledged
“All my teammates have an equal chance to start the game because the coach has the right to judge whether the player can play or not,”
