A flop at Stamford Bridge, Kevin De Bruyne has a chance to show the Blues how wrong they were to let him go.
Manchester City have completed the biggest Premier League transfer deal of the entire summer, signing VfL Wolfsburg superstar Kevin De Bruyne on a six-year deal for a £58 million fee.
Man City reported on their Twitter account this morning that they had completed the deal for the 24-year-old attacking midfielder who doubles as a winger.

Within minutes the Citizens had printed #17 onto a brand new kit for the 2015 German Footballer of the Year.

The £58 million fee is just £2 million short of the all-time Premier League record that Man United paid for Angel Di Maria last year. It also breaks Man City’s club record for a transfer previously set on a deal for Raheem Sterling just a few months ago.

Kevin De Bruyne was a flop for Chelsea when he joined the club in 2012, making just 3 appearances over a 3 year span before being sold to Wolfsburg for £18 million in 2014.
De Bruyne’s two years in Germany resurrected his career as the young Belgian led Bundesliga in assists in 2014-15 and won Bundesliga Player of the Year honors, as well as the Footballer of the Year in Germany award.
Though Man United fans will undoubtedly be disappointed in seeing another star winger slip through their grasp, it won’t be a total loss as the absence of De Bruyne will seriously weaken VfL Wolfsburg – a club that just so happens to have been grouped with the Red Devils in Group B of the Champions League.
With De Bruyne’s help, Wolfsburg won the DFB-Pokal title and the DFL-Supercup – their first ever victories in both tournaments.
