It had been believed that Alvaro Morata would be heading permanently for the Real Madrid exit door this summer, with manager Carlo Aneclotti admitting that he would not stand in the Spaniard’s way, but a new twist has emerged today with Marca reporting that Morata could be heading for Villarreal on a loan deal.
Real continue to see Morata as a possible star of the future but not a player yet ready to challenge Karim Benzema for a starting berth upfront, meaning that a loan deal may prove to be a favourable outcome for both Morata and his club.
Arsene Wenger had originally wanted to bring Morata to the Emirates Stadium in January, but Ancelotti was reluctant to allow the 21 year-old to leave the Bernabeu, with Morata’s history as a youth player at the club making him vital when it comes to homegrown player quotas in the Champions League.
Juventus are also believed to be interested in Morata as they look to bring in competition for Carlos Tevez and Fernando Llorente, although the Turin side have also been linked to a season-long loan move for Southampton misfit Dani Osvaldo.
