Argentinian was on target yet again at Reading on Tuesday night.
Manchester City are bracing themselves for the possible departure of star front man Sergio Aguero at the end of the season, according to reports in the Daily Mail.
The deadly Argentina international has been at Eastlands for two years now, having joined the mega-rich Premier League outfit for a club-record fee of £38 million from Atetico de Madrid.
And in the intervening period the striker has proved to be a resounding success with City, netting 30 goals in just 48 matches in all competitions last season, while in this campaign the attacker has registered an equally impressive 17 goals in 39 contests.
However, the 24-year-old will be best remembered by City fans for scoring the goal that won the club their first top-flight title since 1968 last May in the 3-2 win against Queens Park Rangers on the final day of the season.
Aguero has a contract with City until the end of June 2016 and so any potential suitors are going to have to break the bank this summer in order to lure the forward away from the north west.
