England star has been heavily linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain.
Unsettled Manchester United front man Wayne Rooney is said to be concerned that the Premier League champions are trying to sell him this summer against his wishes, reports the Daily Mirror.
The England international reportedly asked for a transfer away from Old Trafford last month, according to the former United manager Sir Alex Ferguson, although the player himself denies that he actually requested to leave the club.
Either way Rooney, 27, now feels that there is no way back for him with the Red Devils and that he will not be offered a new deal to stay in the north west beyond the end of his current contract, that expires in the summer of 2015.
The attacker’s form tailed off slightly last campaign, despite United strolling towards a record-breaking 20th top-flight crown and a 13th Premier League title, although Rooney did still manage to hit the back of the net on 12 occasions in 26 league outings for the club.
