Can we believe what Mourinho says in the media?
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has insisted that he is delighted with his Stamford Bridge squad and will not be looking to bring in new players in the January transfer window – and also suggesting that goalkeeper Petr Cech will not be sold despite his inability to dislodge Thibaut Courtois from the Blues’ first team.

The Blues have been linked with numerous players over recent weeks, despite the fact that Mourinho’s side are leading the Premier League table and have breezed through the group stage of the Champions League – and the Portuguese suggested that their performances mean that no new additions will be necessary:
“We cannot be better than first in the League, top of our Champions League group and in the quarter-finals of the Capital One Cup.”
Mourinho has previous form for being slightly misleading in the media, however, and it is clear that there are one or two gaps in his squad that Chelsea could do with filling – meaning that it would still be no surprise if he did dip his toes into the murky waters of the January market.
