Early 2014 IPL leaders Kings XI Punjab have the chance to extend their run at the top of the table when they take on Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Kings XI are the only franchise with a 100% record in IPL 7 and are up against an RCB side that are struggling for form currently.
After winning their first two matches Bangalore have suffered successive defeats, including a humiliating six-wicket defeat to Rajasthan Royals on Saturday – in which Virat Kohli’s men managed to score just 70 for their 10 wickets.
Despite having supposedly the best top order in the tournament, the likes of AB de Villiers, Yuvraj Singh and Kohli himself, failed to perform with the bat.
This is not a problem for Kings XI however, as in Glenn Maxwell they have the most in-form player in the competition so far with 294 runs scored already.
The Australian has been well supported by David Miller and Virender Sehwag, whilst Lakshmipathy Balaji has been useful with the ball and has seven wickets to date.
Not that the Royal Challengers should be taken lightly, as despite poor results of late they do have one of the most talented teams in Twenty20 cricket and still have powerful opener Chris Gayle to welcome back to the side.
