Players and journalists hit out at the annual rankings system.
The annual NBA rankings have done it again after they rated Los Angeles Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant as only the 25th best player in the league.
The unusually low ranking sparked outrage amongst Lakers fans and basketball enthusiasts alike, and even players who said they do not take any notice of the annual charting of player’s abilities.
Bryant was apparently seething earlier this year when ESPN rated his Lakers as most likely to finish 12th in the NBA Western Conference and miss out on a playoff birth.
One can only imagine how the Black Mamba would have reacted to being placed well outside of the top 20 players in the league.
Players should rate players..just like the nfl do..these analysts never played at this level before! Just being real

I could care less about #NBArank or #NBA2K14 ratings for real. Annual rankings fans debate as to if they are relevant at all. — Roy Hibbert (@Hoya2aPacer) October 16, 2013
Kobe still TOP 3. — ReggieEvans30 (@ReggieEvans30) October 16, 2013
RT @BrandonJennings: Why even rank NBA players, if you not #1 it shouldn’t matter. Or winning championships it don’t matter.

RT @BRush_25: Kobe ranked #25 smh

For #NBArank I personally reserve a 10 rating for the top 3-5 players in the NBA. I gave Kobe 10s before, but 9 this year accounting injury

How is Kobe only No. 25 in #NBArank? Last year D.Rose was No. 5 and A.Bynum No. 13 and both didn't play. Voters learning to weigh injuries
