It’s a match up of two evenly matched sides in the 2014 IPL as Kolkata Knight Riders take on Rajasthan Royals having both won two and lost two so far in the tournament.
Kolkata have struggled for form with the bat, best shown by the woeful performances of their captain Gautum Gambhir at the crease.
The skipper has managed to score just one run in his four innings to date, with fellow top order batsman Yusuf Pathan not doing much better with 17 runs so far.
Their only saving grace has been veteran all-rounder Jacques Kallis and Manish Pandey, whilst with the ball spinner Sunil Narine has been excellent and is the Purple Cap leader currently.
It’s not a dissimilar story for Rajasthan, with their own top order having had a stuttering start to the IPL 7 competition as well.
Abhishek Nayar and Ajinkya Rahane have been poor and it’s come as a relief for the franchise that captain Shane Watson appears to have found his form again with both bat and ball.
Their bowling attack – despite lacking a star name – has been performing brilliantly however, with Rajat Bhatia, Kane Richardson and Pravin Tambe sure to give the likes of Gambir and Kallis something to think about.
