Chris Paul went for 25 points and seven assists as he led the way for the Clippers, while Blake Griffin (17 points) and Jamal Crawford (18 points) contributed to an important win between two of the most in-form teams in the NBA.
Paul and Griffin combined well to provide the night’s entertainment, with the latter producing some eye-catching monster slams as the Clippers move to 36-17 for the season.
Carmelo Anthony tried in vain to turn the tide, scoring 42 points on the night, but it wasn’t enough as the Clippers ran away with it in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Knicks 31-18.
Anthony is on a hot streak ahead of the All-Star weekend, after scoring 36 points in Friday’s win at Minnesota and last night’s high scoring game he is the NBA’s second leading scorer with 28.7 points per game.
The bench was big for the Clippers, ending the game with 48 points, compared to a measly 15 contributed by the Knicks’ reserves as they fall to 32-17.
The Knicks will hope to bounce back when they face the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday night, while the Clippers now prepare for a trip to Philadelphia to take on the 76ers on Monday.
