Once a top scoring target for Liverpool, Nolito could be headed to La Liga due to the Pedro transfer.
Barcelona still haven’t found their man to replace current-Chelsea winger Pedro on their wing, but they may have zeroed in on a former Liverpool target who can be guy.
According to the Express, Barcelona sporting director Robert Fernandez revealed that the La Liga and Champions League winners have targeted 28-year-old Nolito out of Celta as their top winger target.
“It is true that there are a series of players we are looking at,” Fernandez said. “Nolito is a player that both (manager) Luis Enrique and myself know very well, but it is not an easy solution.
“It is a possibility in the winter market. We will see if it can happen or not.”
The Spanish-born Manuel Agudo Durán, better known as Nolito, was a target of Liverpool back in 2013 but ultimately signed with La Liga’s Celta de Vigo. Nolito has scored a total of 25 league goals in 67 appearances with the La Liga outfit over the past two seasons.
Nolito played briefly for Barcelona from 2010 to 2011 after spending three years with Barcelona B. He made 1 goal in 5 total appearances back in the 2010-11 season and signed with Benfica the following season. Nolito has 40 league goals since 2011 from both the forward and winger positions.
