Valencia eyeing January move for former star.
Valencia are interested in re-signing Chelsea outcast Juan Mata in January, according to The Metro.
Mata joined the Blues from Los Che in 2011 and has been named the club’s player of the year in the past two campaigns.
But the 25-year-old Spain international is facing a struggle to earn a starting spot under new Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho, who has handed Mata just two Premier League starts this term.
The Spaniard was left out of the squad for Chelsea’s last Premier League match and it is thought that Arsenal, Tottenham, Manchester United and Real Madrid are also keeping tabs on the player.
But former club Valencia are front runners for to sign Mata and have reportedly already begun talks with investors over funding a £25m bid in the new year.
The club are facing severe financial problems and will ask Chelsea for a loan move if their bid is rejected.
