Rebels winger set to miss one game after mid-week clash with British and Irish.
Melbourne Rebels winger Lachlan Mitchell was suspended for one match after being found guilty of a dangerous lifting tackle on British and Irish Lions winger Simon Zebo.
Mitchell was cited during the second-half of his side’s 35-0 defeat to the Lions in Melbourne on Tuesday night.
Judicial officer Nigel Hampton said the incident, usually a four-week offence, was at the lowest level and cited Mitchell’s good on-field record for reducing the penalty to one match.
It rules Mitchell out of the 12th placed Rebels’ final Super Rugby game of the season against the Otago Highlanders on July 12.
