It is often said that it can take foreign players many months to get to grips with the physicality of the Premier League.
Lazar Markovic wasn’t able to adjust as well as Liverpool had hoped following his £20m arrival from Benfica in 2014 (fee according to the Daily Mail).
The Serbian winger was subsequently loaned out to Fenerbahce last summer. As it turns out, Turkish football might be a little too feisty for him as well!

During Fenerbahce’s 2-0 win over Trabzonspor on Monday, Markovic was involved in a tangle of legs with Salih Dursun, who didn’t take it well.
Dursan jumped to his feet and postured as if he were about to attack the Liverpool loanee.
Judging by his reaction, Markovic is clearly not a fighter. The 21-year-old curled himself up like a scared hedgehog, while he face told a story of genuine horror.
Fenerbahce’s victory means the Istanbul outfit are now unbeaten in 11 matches in all competitions.
