The capital club are looking to bolster their squad as they prepare for a return to the Champions League next season, and it is claimed that they were offered Balotelli by his agent Mino Raiola, as reported by Football Italia.
However, president Claudio Lotito delivered a firm no in response as he evidently isn’t interested in adding the former Milan star to his squad.
Nevertheless, it is added that if Liverpool agree to pay his wage in a loan deal and Lazio were then able to get through to the Champions League group stages, a deal could be struck.
Balotelli has failed to settle at Anfield and hasn’t had the desired impact that boss Brendan Rodgers would have hoped for when he signed him last year.
The Italian international has continued to struggle to reach his full potential wherever he has gone, and it appears as though another move would set him back further given that he would have to start the process all over again.
