We all know the Cesc Fabregas transfer to Barcelona was one of the longest running transfer sagas of modern football and that it should have been done months ago but that aside, from a neutral point of view with no bias towards the Barclays Premier League or in fact Arsenal, it seems Cesc has made the right choice – to leave Arsenal.
Having giving his heart and soul to Arsenal Football Club for many years with no return in terms of silverware one match at the mighty Barcelona goes some way to righting the aforementioned wrong as Barcelona overcome Real Madrid once more, this time winning the Spanish Super Cup.
Although the cup (which is the equivalent of our Community Shield in England) is not considered a major trophy and with the bigger picture and the future in mind even the most bitter and deluded of Arsenal fans would find it hard to deny that someone of his quality should be playing for a club competing for domestic and European honours. Arsenal haven’t been that club for many years now and don’t look to be getting there anytime soon.
Although this may be read as a jibe towards Arsenal and their fans it isn’t intended in that light. It is intended as a celebration of one of the world’s most talented and humble players living his dream and although as a fan of the Barclays Premier League I am deeply saddened to lose one of our brightest talents, I fully understand and support Fabregas’ decision.
All the best and thank you for the entertainment Cesc.
