Chris Leben and Mark Munoz may not be the most well known Ultimate Fighting Championship contenders out there, but they are unphased at the prospect of sparring in front of a record Birmingham LG Arena crowd for UFC 138.
“When they offered up Mark, and said ‘Hey, main event,’ I said ‘You know what? That’s great. That’s a great idea,” proclaimed a confident Leben.
“Why? We both throw bombs,” continued the American.
“You guys are going to have a main event you’re not going to have to worry about.”
UFC 138 has come in for some criticism, as no fighter on the bill is a former champion – and indeed many of the undercard line-up are to make their UFC debuts.
However, like Leben, Munoz is promising fans good value for their money.
“This is what we work for. This is why we’re here in the UFC. We want to be the best. I definitely want to be the best. I’m getting closer and closer. This is one of the steps to get there,” said Munoz.
“He throws bombs. I throw bombs, too. So bombs away. It’s going to be an exciting fight, for sure. He brings it and I bring it.”
