James didn’t mention which schools were involved in the recruiting process, but he made it clear that he isn’t particularly happy with how early it is starting.
It follows on from a video that was released earlier this week of James Jr. impressing at the John Lucas All-Star weekend where he not only his individual skill, but also his ability to find teammates and show all-round good basketball IQ.
“Yeah, he’s already got some offers from colleges,” James said, according to Lindsey Foltin of Fox Sports Ohio.
“It’s pretty crazy. It should be a violation. You shouldn’t be recruiting 10-year-old kids.”
While James was naturally excited about his son’s ability, it is clear that he doesn’t want the media putting pressure on him with eight years to go before he even makes a choice about where he is going to college.
That level of expectation will come though whether he likes it or not if his son is going to follow in his footsteps, and judging from what we’ve seen so far, he may well be worth the wait.
