Philadelphia Eagles running back LeSean McCoy praised Darren Sproles by calling his feet the quickest he’s ever seen.
The Philadelphia Eagles traded for Darren Sproles this offseason to bolster their running back depth, and he has already made a positive impression on starting running back LeSean McCoy.
“Sproles has the quickest feet I’ve ever seen out of any player. He’ll help us out tremendously,” said McCoy to NFL.com.
Sproles has been well-known for his blazing speed in his time with the San Diego Chargers and New Orleans Saints. The 31 year-old has been used in running and passing plays, and never failed to make an impact on special teams either. He has returned three kicks and two punts for touchdowns throughout his career.
Sproles, whose nickname is the Lightning Bug, has also finished with at least 70 receptions and 600 receiving yards in his last three seasons. His role in the Eagles offense will become an intriguing storyline since head coach Chip Kelly is notable for bringing out the best in his running backs.
Sproles will look to prove that he can still be a versatile weapon as the Eagles’ training camp begins July 25.
