PSG chiefs are so determined to land their man that they have told the Eredivisie side that they are not prepared to miss out on £25million-rated forward.
The 21-year-old had been thought to be heading to Old Trafford this summer with manager Louis Van Gaal keen on a reunion after working with him in the Dutch national side at last summer’s World Cup.
Endhoven staff even admitted last week that United had lodged an enquiry as to his availability, but that news prompted Laurent Blanc’s men to jump into action with their own offer and are even ready to hand him a mega bucks contract in order to tempt him.
Liverpool may still also have a say, though, as the club’s owners have told Brendan Rodgers to start building for next season following a disappointing campaign this year.
