St Etienne front man Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang would be a risk, but maybe one worth taking by Arsenal head coach Arsene Wenger this summer.
Giant Gabon international has issued an end-of-season come-and-get-me-plea to potential suitors, of which North London club Arsenal are reportedly one.

In-form St Etienne attacker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been attracting a fair amount of interest from clubs around Europe, as the tall Gabon international continues to find the back of the net on a regular basis for the Ligue 1 outfit this season.
TalkSPORT name Bundesliga title holders Borussia Dortmund, big-spending Ligue 1 leaders Paris Saint-Germain and high-flying Serie A side Fiorentina as clubs monitoring the 23-year-old forward from the continent of late.
Meanwhile, in the Premier League, Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal and Alan Pardew’s Newcastle United have both reportedly recently sent scouts across the Channel to check out the red-hot front man in action, and they no doubt will have sent back glowing reports to their respective bosses as Aubameyang continues to bang in the goals for his club this campaign.
To date, Aubameyang has hit the target on 16 occasions in only 28 Ligue 1 matches for St Etienne, but perhaps of equal interest to the clubs following him will be that the massive forward has also laid on a plate 13 other goals for his team-mates. This shows that he is far from being just an out-and-out goal poacher who would bring a team only goals, operating in the penalty box alone.
The 23 year-old Aubameyang has an outstanding injury record since joining St Etienne, and actually reveals himself that he is valued by Les Verts at around the £8.8 million mark.
“If people are talking about me then I am not aware of it. But if someone offers €12 million to the club I do not know if I’ll go or not,” Aubameyang is quoted as saying by talkSPORT.
“I am calm because I still have two years left on my contract.”
That price may rise between now and when the transfer window reopens this summer if the player continues in his current rich vein of form.
Arsenal do at present of course have a French striker who they only just plucked from Ligue 1 last season, Olivier Giroud, but doubts remain about the Frenchman’s ability to cut it at the very highest levels, hence his recent scouting of Aubameyang.
With the physique, pace, power and all-round technical ability, the ASSE attacker could be a clever addition to the Arsenal ranks next season.
