Monaco are keen on signing Cole.
Chelsea left-back Ashley Cole is the subject of interest from both Real Madrid and now Ligue 1 rich boys AS Monaco, according to the Mirror.
The 33-year-old’s current contract at Stamford Bridge expires in the summer and due to a combination of lack of form and fitness this term, has become something of an outside figure in the Blues starting XI.
New York Red Bulls have also shown signs that they want to sign Cole, as the England international prepares for one final pay day before retirement.
The full-back’s former Arsenal team-mate Thierry Henry is thought to be the main lure of moving to New York, but the MLS does not have the same attraction as either Madrid or Monaco.
Carlo Ancelotti is prepared to give Cole a two-year deal at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu, with the option of a third year if things go well.
However, Los Blancos probably wouldn’t pay the Englishman as much as Monaco would to play in the Spanish capital.
Due to the financial backing of Russian billionaire owner Dmitry Rybolovlev the Principality club could offer Cole wages of £10m a year, tax free.
The Blues are unlikely to offer the defender a new deal in west London due to the rise in prominence of Cesar Azpilicueta as a left-back and also the probability of them making new purchases in the summer.
Cole has been with the club for nearly eight years since a controversial move from the Gunners and has won every trophy possible with the team.
